EV Armenia

Yerevan to Tbilisi by electric car

By EV Armenia team · Updated

Short answer

Both roads from Yerevan to the Georgian border have EV Armenia AC stations: the northern road through Vanadzor, Gyulagarak, Alaverdi and Ptghavan, and the road through Gyumri. Georgia has about 670 public chargers (October 2026), mostly Type 2 for AC and CCS2 for DC, but we found no EV-specific information on border crossing, so check your car’s or rental’s rules.

Two roads to the border

According to the list of Armenian highways on Wikipedia, the M3 road runs from Margara via Ashtarak and Vanadzor to the Georgian border at Dzoramut, and the M1 runs from Yerevan via Ashtarak and Gyumri to Bavra on the border. Our stations lie along both. Check your navigator for the crossing you plan to use.

Before you cross

  • Rental cars. Whether a rental EV may leave Armenia depends on the rental contract. We found no EV-specific rule, so ask the company in writing.
  • Connectors. Check that your car’s inlet matches Georgia’s Type 2 and CCS2, or carry the right adapter. See connector types.
  • Payments. Our app works for stations on our network only. In Georgia you will need the apps of the Georgian networks.
  • Charge before the border queue. Fill the battery at the last Armenian station.

Learn the basics at how to charge. For a local trip, see Sevan and Dilijan, and if you need a car, see renting an electric car. AC charging on our network costs 100 AMD per kWh.
