How to charge an electric car in Armenia
To charge an electric car in Armenia, find a station on the map, check that its connector fits your car, scan the QR code or open the station in the app, review the price, pay with Idram, an ArCa bank card or Fastshift, plug in and start. On the EV Armenia network energy costs 100 AMD per kWh (28 October 2026) and you can charge as a guest without an account.
Charging step by step
- Find a station that fits your car
Open the map in the web app or the list of stations. Check the connector type: the network has 31 Type 1 (J1772), 29 Type 2 and 2 GB/T connectors, all AC. Not sure which one your car has? See connector types in Armenia.
- Open the station or scan the QR code
Scan the QR code on the charger with your phone camera, or tap the station on the map. The station page shows the connectors, their power and whether each one is free, busy or offline.
- Look at the price card
Before you confirm, the app shows the rate per kWh, any session or idle fee, and the prepaid amount. Details: charging prices in Armenia.
- Pay and plug in
Choose Idram, an ArCa bank card (through the IDBank gateway), Fastshift or your in-app wallet, then plug the cable into the car and start the session. More on payment methods.
- Watch the session and stop
The app shows power, energy and cost live. Stop the session in the app when you have enough, or let it finish. You also get a push notification when the charge is done.
- Unplug and take the receipt
A receipt with energy, duration and the total goes to your e-mail. If you prepaid more than you used, the unused part is refunded to your card, or kept as credit if you paid with Idram, Fastshift or the wallet.
Do I need an account?
No. EV Armenia supports guest charging: scan the QR code, choose how to pay and type an e-mail address for the receipt. There is no password and nothing to install. An account is useful if you want your history in one place and a wallet balance you can top up once and use at every station.
As a guest you pay up front and are billed only for the energy you used. If you paid by bank card, the unused part is refunded to the card; if you paid with Idram or Fastshift, it stays as credit on your e-mail for next time.
What to check before you drive to a station
- Connector. AC stations in Armenia mostly have Type 1 (J1772) or Type 2 sockets. Cars from the United States and some Japanese and Korean cars use Type 1, European cars use Type 2, and cars built for China use GB/T. Check the inlet on your car before the trip.
- Cable. For AC charging you usually bring your own charging cable that matches both the station socket and your car. If the station has a tethered cable, the station page says so.
- Power. The speed is limited by the lower of two numbers: the connector limit and what your car’s onboard charger accepts. A 22 kW connector will not charge a car that accepts 7 kW faster than 7 kW.
- Status. Check that the connector is free right now. The map shows free, busy and offline connectors; the static station pages show catalog data only.
If something does not work
- The connector is offline or busy. Pick the next station on the map. Stations in the same place often have two connectors.
- The session does not start. Re-seat the plug until the car confirms the connection, then press start again. If it still does not start, stop and write to the support contact in the app, and we will sort out the payment for a session that never began.
- The cable does not fit. You need a different connector type or an adapter that is approved for your car. Do not force a plug, and do not use a home extension lead for charging.
- You want a refund or a receipt again. Write to info@ev-armenia.net with the e-mail you used and the approximate time of the session.
