Charging a Tesla in Armenia

By EV Armenia team · Updated

Short answer

A Tesla in Armenia charges on the public network if its connector is matched. A car built for the US market has the Tesla (NACS, SAE J3400) port and needs a J1772 adapter for the Type 1 AC points; a Tesla sold in Europe since May 2019 has a CCS2 inlet and takes a Type 2 cable. PlugShare lists no Tesla Supercharger in Yerevan, so you rely on third-party stations.

Which Tesla do you have?

Cars reach Armenia from the United States, China and Europe, so Teslas here do not all share one inlet. Look at the charge port on the car and the market it was built for.

Check the inlet on your car and the adapters you carry. We have not tested every model and year; if in doubt, ask a Tesla service centre.

Superchargers in Armenia

PlugShare lists zero Tesla Superchargers in Yerevan (checked 28 October 2026). A Tesla therefore charges at third-party stations: AC at points like ours, and DC at other operators. For example, Team Energy states in its app listing DC chargers from 80 to 240 kW with connectors that include Tesla, CCS1 and CCS2.

At EV Armenia stations

  1. Open the map, filter by connector, and choose a Type 1 or Type 2 station that fits your car and adapter.
  2. Plug in, scan the QR code and pay; see how to charge.
  3. AC charging costs 100 AMD per kWh. Use the cost calculator with your battery size.

All EV Armenia points are AC. A Tesla gets its fast charging elsewhere, so use our stations for a long stop, such as a hotel night, and plan DC stops with other operators; see networks compared.

Before you plug in

  • Check what your adapter is rated for. An adapter carries the full current of the charger, so use one made for the job and not an unmarked one.
  • Know your car’s AC limit. On AC the speed is set by the car’s onboard charger, which differs by model and market, and by the point: our strongest Type 2 connector is 21 kW.
  • Set a charge limit if you want to leave early or to be gentle on the battery for a night stop.
  • Plan for an overnight pattern. With no Superchargers and only AC on our network, the natural fit is to arrive, plug in at a hotel or restaurant and leave charged.

What to ask when you import one

  • Which market the car was built for, and so which inlet it has.
  • The onboard AC charger rating, which sets your home and hotel charging speed.
  • Whether an adapter or a Type 2 cable is included.
  • Battery condition, in writing. A used car’s range depends on it.

Buying a Tesla in Armenia

Import rules and the VAT exemption have changed in 2025 and 2026; see import, VAT and quota. Choose with the connector in mind: the NACS port limits you to adapters on most local AC stations.

Questions and answers

Can I charge a Tesla at EV Armenia stations?

Yes, with the right cable or adapter. A US-market Tesla needs a J1772 adapter for Type 1 points; a European-spec Tesla uses a Type 2 cable. All our points are AC.

Are there Tesla Superchargers in Armenia?

PlugShare lists none in Yerevan as of 28 October 2026.

Does my Tesla have CCS2 or NACS?

Teslas sold in Europe since May 2019 have CCS2. Cars built for the US market have the NACS port. Check the charge port on your car.
