EV charging in Armenia: statistics for 2026
Armenia had about 270 registered EVs in 2020 and more than 22,650 by the end of August 2025. EV imports were 9,635 in 2023, 11,793 in 2024 and 14,888 between 1 January and 14 October 2025. Reports count more than 300 public charging points around September 2025, over half of them in Yerevan. Figures from different sources use different definitions, so each number below carries its source and date.

Targets
A national plan prepared with the World Bank, as reported by CivilNet, aims at 42,000 EVs by 2030, 230,000 by 2035 and 550,000 by 2040. A separate International Energy Agency roadmap states a target of 100,000 light-duty EVs by 2030. These are two different documents; we do not know which is official policy. CivilNet also noted that reaching 10% of the fleet by 2030 would need at least a tenfold expansion of charging.
Duty-free quota
The EAEU quota for 2026 is 15,000 vehicles, with an additional 5,000 approved in August 2026. By 2 August 2026 the State Revenue Committee reported 2,447 unused, with the non-dealer portion 90% used. Details and sources: import, VAT and quota.
